My wife and I started CompuSolver back in 1998. At that time we did
mainly web design, ASP programming, database and data conversion work
for small businesses.
Today we prefer to program in the PHP/MySQL environment on Unix or Linux
platforms because small businesses require performance and, most importantly,
stability and because we can build powerful applications in half the time than it took with Windows ASP or .NET.
Our business has grown to include additional services such as web
hosting (through SmBizHosting.com), search engine optimization,
Macromedia Flash applications, video and audio web implementations,
data-mining (collecting information from the web and formatting into
a database) and consulting.
All too often, we've seen people spend a lot of money on their website to only end up with a useless mess. The reasons are either a well-meaining web designer who just didn't have the expertise and who got in over his head or an irresponsible designer who was in it for the fast buck, then abandoned his customer. I've even seen cases where a client had a good site but wanted major changes, but his developer had used such "spaghetti code" that it would take more time to change it than to start all over again.
We've discovered a way to protect clients from any of these dangers - content management systems. Often, there is a solid CMS in the open source community that can be used for free. Sometimes they require custom plug-ins, modules or components before they'll work well for very large or unusual businesses. Sometimes, even for a small business, it is best to create a custom CMS solution.
In either case, after the application is installed and setup, the customer is in control of his website. He or his employees can add, remove or change any and all content, without having to know the first thing about HTML or programming. If a custom feature is needed at a later date, any web professional (or even an amateur) can probably find one to fill the bill that is freely available for download and installation. Even if a custom plug-in is needed, it is very easy (and not expensive) to find a programmer to take care of it.
We want to help web customers free themseles from having to rely on web designers and web developers. Ask about having us research your needs and provide you with a report and recomendations. The cost is just $100 and we can usually have your report ready within just 48 hours.
I'm ready - Please get started on my report. We look forward to working with you to help you create the website you
envision and deserve.
